Through our work with a wide range of Start-Up, Small and Medium Organisations (SMEs/SMBs) we have gained significant understanding and experience of the needs of this sector. The details below summarise our experience of those services that SME/SMB organisations most frequently require. Although no two organisations are identical, and the solutions will be tailored to your specific requirements, the following will give you some idea of where to start. We provide these services to UK, European and American companies operating in the UK.

Employment Documentation
The most critical element is to ensure that you have Contracts of Employment in place for all employees. Not only is this a legal requirement, but well drafted contracts set out the terms under which you are offering employment, as well as your employees' contractual rights in areas such as holidays and sick pay. This can prevent problems and disputes from escalating – or as many of our ‘small’ clients put it, “it allows us to sleep at night”.

After the Contracts, an Employee Handbook is an extremely popular and valuable addition. The Handbook sets out in detail a whole range of information, contractual details, policies and procedures. It becomes the definitive source of reference for employees and managers.

We can also provide 'ToolKits' containing everything you need in areas such as Recruitment and everyday Template Letters and Forms.

The other popular area of documentation is our range of Employment Guides and Policies. These Guides, on a wide range of topics, set out detailed practical guidance and advice, as well as your policies and procedures, and are the main source of reference for managers in areas such as Absence, Maternity, and Working Time.

Advice and Support
For most employers who do not have a ‘personnel expert’ on their team, their biggest concern after sorting out the documentation, is how to obtain access to advice on a range of employment issues at a reasonable cost. To meet this need we can set up a tailored Service Level Agreement. For a fixed monthly or annual fee, this service can give you access via the telephone and/or e-mail to advice on a wide range of employment issues and on-site support when you need it. HealthChecks
For organisations that have been established for a while, and probably built up a range of various employment practices, we offer an Employment HealthCheck. This HealthCheck will review your current documentation (if any) and practices and make recommendations on any work required to ensure that you are both legally compliant with current and foreseeable employment legislation, as well as working to current employment best practice. The HealthCheck is tailored to your specific requirements and will make a significant difference to your employment practices and ‘peace of mind’.
