Employee Benefits
In addition to Basic Salaries,
there are a wide range of other employee benefits that you might
want, or need, to consider.
Considering
the provision of additional benefits may be part of your strategy
for attracting, motivating and retaining the best
people.
It may
also be that your 'industry' or 'sector' has an
established practice of providing certain benefits
and you will need to at least match the 'norm' if you are to be
competitive.
In the
case of Pensions, providing employees with access
to a Pension Scheme is a mandatory requirement,
if you have more than 5 employees.
We also
receive regular enquiries from Start-Up businesses in the
UK, as well as from American and European
companies who are setting up in the UK, and we can provide help
and advice on constructing and sourcing various benefits.
Whatever your motivation, we can advise you on a range of benefits,
including:
- Commission and / or Bonus
Schemes are popular with Sales Roles and Middle / Senior
Management, in addition to Basic Salaries
- Sickness Benefits –
Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) or Company Sick Pay schemes (CSP). A
good CSP scheme, linked to a PMI scheme (see below) can help to
get absent employees back to full health, and work, much sooner
- Private Medical Insurance
(PMI) provides access to immediate health care and a quicker return
to work, and is therefore very popular for middle / senior managers
- Permanent Health Insurance
(PHI) for long-term illness or disability cover is also popular,
but not as widespread as PMI
- Holidays – a statutory
minimum of 4.8 weeks per annum including 8 national holidays,
increasing to a minimum of 5.6 weeks in 2009. 6 weeks is
now quite common for senior managers or key employees
- Company Cars and Free
Fuel are still relatively popular, despite tax increases/changes.
Car Allowances have also become very popular in lieu of a vehicle
- Pensions Schemes are mandatory
where there are 5 or more employees
